“Hashiru Nihon-ichi” (the running market of Japan) is a regional project to sell on Sanyo Shinkansen trains “special souvenirs” co-developed by West Japan Railway Company (JR West), West Japan Railway Food Service Net Company, Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, and producers located along the JR West lines.
The project started in 2015 in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the opening of the whole Sanyo Shinkansen line, releasing unique souvenir items designed with the features of Yamaguchi, Fukuoka, Ishikawa and Okayama Prefectures. Then in 2016, souvenir items from three areas (Setouchi, the ancient capitals, and San’in) appeared on the “Hashiru Nihon-ichi” market.
Be careful not to miss the market’s original souvenir items based on regional food and craftwork as they are available for a limited period of time and in limited quantities. During the period, only one of the about 200 wagons serving on Sanyo Shinkansen trains appears as a special wagon for “Hashiru Nihon-ichi.” You may possibly get on a Shinkansen train traveling with the special wagon!
